Why aren’t Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen on Instagram? Depending on how old you were when Full House was airing on television, there’s a chance you’re extremely familiar with the Olsen twins.

Mary-Kate and Ashley cemented themselves in the Hollywood industry as actresses and fashion designers. Fans still have endless admiration for them.

Here’s why you’ll never catch either twin on Instagram or other social media platforms.

Mary-Kate and Ashley simply can’t be bothered with Instagram.

Back in 2011, Mary-Kate opened up about her appreciation for living a private lifestyle with Vogue saying, “We’ve spent our whole lives trying to not let people have that accessibility, so it would go against everything we’ve done in our lives.”

Creating social media platforms would instantly give the world a level of access these sisters aren’t comfortable with.

Ashley further noted that creating a social media profile would fill her with “so much anxiety.”

In 2017, Ashley told Net-a-Porter, “ We don’t dive into that world [of social media]; we don’t have Instagram or Facebook. We’ve stayed quite sheltered in that sense.”

All in all, their love for their privacy, the fact that social media would create anxiety within them, and their disinterest in losing the sheltered safety they currently have pose as reasons why you’ll never catch Mary-Kate or Ashley on Instagram.

That said, don’t expect to find and follow them on TikTok, Twitter, Facebook, or any other platforms either since all the platforms sort of go hand in hand in the eyes of the Olsen sisters.

If you want to keep up with Mary-Kate and Ashley, you’ll have to hold your breath for moments when they participate in rare interviews.
