At the age of 35, Taylor Swift is officially engaged to marry Travis Kelce.
They fell for each other in 2023 and have been making waves in their whirlwind relationship since then.
True Swifties who’ve been fan-girling over Taylor since she first splashed onto the music scene more than a decade ago know just how meaningful this moment really is.
Songs like “Love Story,” “Lover,” and “Enchanted” have proven just how much of a lover girl Taylor herself has always been.
In this modern era, finding genuine love with a good person doesn’t exactly feel like the easiest thing in the world to women who are single.
However, Taylor’s happily ever after engagement moment serves as proof that no one should ever let go of their “lover girl” softness.
Being a lover girl for life
For plenty of women, it’s easy to turn cold and bitter in the face of modern dating.
Maintaining your lover girl softness should still be a priority, though. Here’s why.
There’s someone for everyone, as long as your heart is open and receptive to finding love.
You’re entitled to delete your dating apps, take as many breaks from dating as you want, and even participate in the 4B movement by decentering men altogether if you want to!
But if finding your soulmate and spending your life building memories with a special someone is a goal you hope to achieve, then maintaining your lover girl softness is pretty crucial.
Taylor has been through the wringer with tons of heartbreaks under her belt.
Let’s not forget… Joe Jonas dumped her in a callous 27-second phone call.
John Mayer treated her so terribly that she penned the scathing lyrics of “Dear John“ in his honor.
Jake Gyllenhaal broke her heart so badly that we got the legendary, yet tearjerker-inducing ballad “All Too Well“ out of it.
Possibly worst of all was her relationship with Joe Alwyn, who seemingly dragged her along for more than six years without putting a ring on it.
But did Taylor give up on love along the way? Nope.
Taylor wrote and released tons of songs chronicling the highs and lows of her love life, while continually holding hope that true love would come her way.
And she was right.
Travis is arguably the best relationship she’s ever been in since he understands what it means to be a dominating force in his respective industry.
She kills the game as a musician and he kills the game as a football player.
They come from two very different worlds, but they both understand the pressures of fame, fan expectations, busy schedules, constant public scrutiny, the never-ending rumor mill, and beyond.
Needless to say, as a Swiftie, I’m extremely happy for Taylor.
I’m excited that she’s getting her happily ever after moment because she certainly deserves it.
If you feel like you’re running out of time or you feel like you’re at your wits end trying to find a genuine person to settle down with in a loving relationship, don’t give up.
Keep your lover girl softness, and keep hope that the right person is on their way to you.
