“How to get Ozempic” and similar are the most asked questions, with 48,800 average monthly searches. “How can I get Ozempic,” “How to get on Ozempic,” and “How to get Ozempic online” are other versions of the question that are highly popular on Google.

So, how can a person get Ozempic?

Ozempic is a prescription-only treatment that is only FDA-approved for people who have type 2 diabetes. However, Ozempic is a brand name, and the medication itself is called semaglutide. Semaglutide can be prescribed for weight loss under the brand name Wegovy for individuals with a BMI above 30, or a BMI above 27 with a weight-related condition like high cholesterol or hypertension.

Second on the list are “How does Ozempic work” and “What does Ozempic do,” for a total of 41,000 average monthly searches.

The science behind medications can be somewhat complicated. However, in Ozempic’s case, its effects can be simply explained as:

1.    It helps your pancreas produce more insulin when your blood sugar is high.

2.    It helps prevent your liver from making and releasing too much sugar.

3.    It slows down food leaving your stomach.

“How much is Ozempic” is the third most asked question, with 40,300 average monthly searches. Ozempic can be expensive, starting at around $1,215 per month at retail prices, and its weight-loss version, Wegovy, can cost from $1,350 per month to over $1,500 per month at retail prices. Some insurance plans can reduce this cost, but it can be difficult to get approval for weight loss.

There are also ways to get semaglutide cheaper that don’t need to go through insurers, ranging from savings cards from Novo Nordisk, Ozempic and Wegovy’s manufacturer, to using non-brand-name semaglutides through reputable healthcare providers.

Further down on the list, with 40,000 average monthly searches, “What is Ozempic” takes fourth place.

“Ozempic is one of the most talked-about medications of the last few years, and, naturally, people across the country have questions about it. Researching and making informed decisions are essential when starting a new treatment.

“However, you should consult your doctor or other qualified healthcare professional before taking semaglutides. They are potent medications that can cause serious complications without medical supervision. Patients should also be aware that semaglutides need long-term commitment for them to have weight loss effects.”
