Lana Del Rey has had a handful of girly pop feuds throughout the course of her career.

She is probably my favorite celebrity to keep up with because I’m obsessed with music and I have been since 2012.

I’m an independent pop culture journalist after writing professional articles for iHeartRadio, RapTV, and other outlets for the last seven years.

I do a lot of deep dives into my favorite movies, TV shows, and celebs, so let’s dive into Lana’s list of girly pop feuds that have made waves in the pop culture world.

I’m going to start with Lana’s rumored feuds that were never officially confirmed before diving into the true and confirmed nitty gritty.

Rumored: Kim Kardashian

Rumor has it there used to be a feud between Lana Del Rey and Kim Kardashian at two different stages in their friendship.

The first one revolved around Kanye West, and the second one revolved around Lana‘s Skims campaign when she posed in lingerie for Kim‘s brand.

But we’ll start with the Kanye drama. In 2018, Kanye made it abundantly clear that he was a Trump supporter.

He even appeared on Saturday Night Live wearing a Maga hat, which many of his devoted fans found incredibly shocking and upsetting.

Lana commented on one of Kanye’s now deleted posts to say, “Trump becoming our president was a loss for the country but your support of him is a loss for the culture. I can only assume you relate to his personality on some level. Delusions of grandeur, extreme issues with narcissism — none of which would be a talking point if we weren’t speaking about the man leading our country. If you think it’s alright to support someone who believes it’s OK to grab a woman by the pussy just because he’s famous then you need an intervention as much as he does — something so many narcissists will never get because there just isn’t enough help for the issue. Message sent with concern that will never be addressed.”

As a reminder, Lana used to be on really good terms with both Kanye and Kim –– and even performed at their wedding in 2014.

When she was asked how much Kim and Kanye paid her to perform at their wedding, she confirmed that she did it for free because she considered them to be friends.

However, it seems that all of that changed when she commented her real thoughts on Kanye’s post. That went down in 2018, when Kim and Kanye were still married.

Kim was very much Kanye’s wife at the time, which likely led to some awkward attention in her friendship to Lana. But Kim never spoke up in response to Lana’s words.

It seems that drama was definitely water under the bridge after Kim filed for divorce in 2021 and invited Lana to oppose for a Skims campaign for Valentine’s Day in 2024.

It was the lingerie collaboration none of us knew we needed! It was retro inspired, romantic, and stunning.

Lana look incredible. But then rumors started spreading that Kim was going to sue Lana for $1 million since Lana failed to disclose that the photo shoot pictures were part of an advertisement when she posted them on her Instagram.

For context, you’re supposed to add a hashtag letting people know that you’re posting an advertisement if you post intends to lead to sales.

Since Lana didn’t do that, a rumor spread like wildfire that Kim was coming up to her with legal action.

However, none of that was true. So it’s safe to say the rumored feud between Kim and Lana never actually existed in the first place, but here is all the contacts you need if you were curious about those rumors.

Rumored: Taylor Swift

At first glance, it might sound shocking that I’ve included Taylor Swift on this list. But I have good reason.

Although it seems that Taylor and Lana are really good friends on the surface, I’ve seen a few psychological deep dives into what looks like a problematic dynamic between Lana and Taylor post by several creators on YouTube and TikTok.

Some of the hot takes I’ve seen have forced me to take a second look at the friendship between Taylor and Lana. I’ve heard from many different creators that it seems Taylor has spent years jocking Lana‘s swag, copying her aura, and emulating her energy.

A lot of Taylor’s songs seemingly sound like Lana songs in terms of melodies and lyrics. Multiple Reddit threads have been launched to discuss this very topic with fans claiming songs like Wildest Dreams, The Archer, Maroon, and several tracks from the Tortured Poet Department sound like they were heavily influenced by Lana.

When Taylor pulled Lana onto the Grammys stage with her in 2024, I originally thought it was a really sweet and thoughtful thing to do since we all know how many times Lana has been unfairly snubbed by the Grammys.

But after hearing other people analyze the situation, it feels like Taylor’s intentions could’ve been a little darker than we realize.

Lana clearly didn’t want to be pulled up onto that stage and she looked super uncomfortable since it was visibly such an awkward moment.

Taylor was branded a mean girl for pulling Lana onto that stage since it ended up looking like more of a humiliating moment than a thoughtful one.

One fan tweeted, “Taylor swift is disgusting for forcing lana on stage and rubbing that grammy in her face knowing she was also nominated my heart aches and i can’t believe she ever considered this woman a friend.”

Someone else added, “i’m sorry but taylor is so evil for not only dragging lana on stage with her but also making this pitiful speech about lana when she’s the one holding a grammy in her hand… y’all don’t see how much of a mean girl moment this is?”

Lana seemingly shut down the was narrative that the situation made her uncomfortable when she wrote in her comment section to say, “I literally just loved being there. I love to see everyone, get the tea, and hang out. Get dressed up, I literally did not feel 1 ounce of negative emotion at any point in that award ceremony. It was pure funniness and laughter.“

Was this Lana just being the bigger person? Who really knows. But Taylor‘s track record of emulating Lana’s style from aesthetic to lyrics has caused a lot of fan to speculate if there’s really something more sinister happening beneath the surface.

Lady Gaga

If you’ve never heard of the drama between Lana and Lady Gaga, that’s probably because it went down so long ago. I’m talking the early 2000s era, like 2008 2009.

In 2013, a demo track from Lana called So Legit was leaked containing some pretty messy lyrics about Gaga. One of the lines said, “Stefani, you suck. I know you’re selling 20 million.“

Which was a knock against Gaga for allegedly selling out and switching out her style.

You might not be aware, but Lana and Gaga actually ran in the same circles in the New York City indie scene back in the day, and Lana allegedly recorded that song in frustration after Gaga went mainstream, while Lana was still struggling to establishing herself in the music industry.

Some would say that the drama between them was completely one-sided since Lana is the only one to record a diss track. As a reminder, Gaga’s big break happened in 2008 when Just Dance hit the radio. Lana didn’t rise to fame until a few years later in 2011 with the release of the Video Games.

It’s unclear precisely wonder why Lana and Gara had their fallout, but it’s also pretty obvious that when Lana‘s song So Legit was recorded, it wasn’t meant to see the light of day.

Since then, neither Lana or Gaga has made any comment concerning the diss track, so it’s safe to say they’ve both moved on from all of this.

Lana was asked directly if she would collaborate with Gaga by The Guardian back in 2013 and she responded saying, “I don’t think there is a collaboration. We haven’t spoken… I think she’s probably busy making her record. I don’t think she… I don’t think that’s on her agenda.”

A Reddit thread has been created to discuss the drama and there’s a lot of speculative insight there from fans.

The original user posed the question, “Why does or did Lana hate Lady Gaga? I just listened to her diss track about gaga and damn, she really went in on her.”

Someone responded saying, “They came up in New York together before either found fame Gaga blew up into a huge star while on his career didn’t takeoff so I imagine this was her venting during that time and not meant to be released or taken too seriously.“

Ethel Cain 

Let’s dig into the Ethel Cain drama because this tension was extremely chaotic. Rumors about a feud between Lana and Ethel sparked in August 2025 when Lana posted a snippet of a song called Track 13 on her IG feed.

The lyrics said, “Ethel Caine hated my Instagram post. I think it’s cute reenacting my Chicago pose.“

The line about reenacting her Chicago pose allegedly references a picture Ethel posted where she was posing with Jack Donahue, quite similar to a picture Lana previously posted with Jack.

As a reminder, Lana was in a rumored relationship with Jack back in 2022.

2022 was also the year the New York Times published a profile on Ethel, calling her the most famous girl in the Waffle House.

Which is why plenty of pop culture fans thought Lana was referencing Ethel when she mentioned “the most famous girl in the Waffle House” in the Track 13 snippet. Lana also took a pretend shift at a Waffle House restaurant in Alabama.

The biggest piece of evidence of Lana and Ethel feud was Lana’s now deleted comment on an Instagram post from Pop Base. In the comment section, Lana wrote, “I didn’t know who Ethel was until a few years ago — when someone brought to my attention the disturbing and graphic side-by-side images she would often put up of me next to unflattering creatures and cartoon characters making constant comments about my weight, I was confused at what she was getting at. Then when I heard what she was saying behind closed doors from mutual friends and started inserting herself into my personal life I was definitely disturbed.”

So what are these disturbing and graphic memes? Lana is referring to the Ethel allegedly posted? According to my research, Ethel has a long online history of cyber bullying Lana, as stated by teen Vogue, Variety, and billboard.

Ethel also made a outright shady comment about Lana in an interview with Hero Magazine that started out sounding like a compliment, but ended up taking a turn. She said, “I love Lana, I love her older music. Her newer stuff doesn’t really resonate with me, but I’d be a liar to say I never loved Lana. Musically, I’m not super inspired by her, but I see where comparisons could be drawn. The music is deeper, sultrier, smokier. It’s lazy and sexy while still having viper-like femininity. But here’s the line between Lana and me. Lana is all façade; she is glamour, she is old Hollywood, she is the peak opulence of the American Dream. And for me, I’m like, that’s just not what America is to me. I think America is the bottom line — it’s the poor people, the people who have been the most affected by the government, by the system. People who are constantly spat on.”

Describing Lana‘s music as lazy and referring to Lana, as a façade is undeniable shade in my opinion. It’s been a while since there have been any exchanges between Lana and Ethel, so maybe this is just something of the past at this point.

Azelia Banks 

It’s impossible to forget about the feed between Lana and Azalea Banks, which went down back in 2018. It was chaotic, but the pop culture world was living for it.

It was after Lana went in on Kanye West for his decision to turn MAGA. Azalea clapped back at Lana saying, “Wow okay Lana, this would be cute if you were consistent with your outrage and refused to collab with ASAP rocky who has physically assaulted women too. To me this just looks like the typical White woman taking using a weakened target to ‘pretend’ to be an ally.”

Lana wrote her right back to say, “u know the addy. Pull up anytime. Say it to my face. But if I were you- I wouldn’t.” She added, “I won’t not fuck you the fuck up. Period.”

And then dug the knife in deeper when she tweeted, “Banks. u coulda been the greatest female rapper alive but u blew it. dont take it out on the only person who had ur back.”

After that, Azalea posted a tweet, trying to insult Lana‘s nose job, comparing it to Michael Jackson, claiming Lana‘s plastic surgeon needed to get blamed for it. Lana wrote back saying, “I’ll send you my surgeons number and a good psychiatrist. I know in LA. Your psych meds aren’t working.”

Azalea later asked, “where is the pull-up tweet? I’m talking to my lawyer.“

Lana responded, “tell him it’s a promise not a threat.“

You could tell Lana completely lost her patience with Azalea through this exchange.

But in typical Lana fashion, she got bored by the drama and stopped responding to Azalea who continued posting tweets, but at that point, it seemed like Azalea was very much just talking to herself.

Carey Cadieux

The last girly pop feud I’m going to cover is about the drama between Lana and Sean Larkin’s wife, Carrie Cadieux.

This beef is definitely considered one-sided since I haven’t been able to see any responses from Carey in all my research. A huge reason for that might be that Carey isn’t a well-known figure or a celebrity.

Her Instagram is set to private and she stays largely out of the spotlight. So everything I know about potential issues between her and Lana has come from Lana‘s side. And that’s mainly been through the help of Lana‘s music.

Lana was in a relationship with Sean Larkin from September 2019 to March 2020 and she had serious feelings for the guy. You might recognize him as a reality TV cop from the show Live PD.

Their breakup was far from amicable and that’s an assumption. Many fans have come to based on lyrics from songs like Blue Banisters, A&W, and Textbook.

But she really took aim at his marriage, which intern took aim at Carey when she had lived lyrics of her song Chemtrails Over the Country Club during a performance in 2023. S

he changed the lyrics to say, “He’s born in December and he got married when we were still together. Sometimes I wonder what his wife would think if she knew that I didn’t know anything / He’s born in December and I’m born in June / He’s born in December and he got married while we were in couple’s therapy together.”

For context, Lana‘s birthday is June 21 and Sean‘s birthday is December 7. When Lana adlibbed those lyrics, it shined a light on the fact that Sean maybe wasn’t the most noble or loyal romantic partner to either Lana or Carey, and that might not have been something Carey was aware of when she tied the knot with him.

Lanadefinitely took aim the sanity of their marriage by shining a light on Sean‘s shady behavior. But as of now, I haven’t been able to find any direct responses from Carey about the situation how much it doesn’t look like she probably ever will.

As a Lana Del Rey stand who rides hard for her, I naturally take her side in every feud she’s ever been in and that will keep being the case for me forever.
