A lot of people can agree that traveling is one of the most exciting things to do. Experiencing what it feels like to explore a new place with new people, new food, new views, and more is incredibly special. One thing that often gets in the way is the potential language barrier when you travel somewhere totally foreign.
Fortunately, technology is rapidly changing and it looks like communication across different countries is about to become a lot easier. TikToker @TravelingWithJoce explains traveling will become a lot safer and easier with these devices.
Language translators
The first possible language translator to get hyped about comes to us from Google. They have been talking about a smart glasses prototype that will translate different languages. Whoever is wearing a special pair of Google glasses will be able to see language as it gets translated in real-time, right before their eyes. Google hasn’t officially rolled out the special glasses just yet.
Waverley Labs has released a personal ear translator that people can wear when they are on vacation. The earbuds are similar to AirPods, but they lay over your ear instead of going inside. When you’re listening to someone saying words in a different language while wearing the Waverley Labs translators, words go up into a cloud and then come back down so you can understand them.
Last but not least, PocketTalk has dropped a mobile app that is perfect for conversational translations no matter where you decide to go. This app is incredibly helpful when it comes to handling money conversations because it can even help people exchange currency. Technology is rapidly changing and evolving, which means there’s a lot to look forward to for travelers who have endless wanderlust.
