Netflix released a show called Perfect Match on its streaming platform for reality TV lovers to swoon over. The show features attractive singles from several different places including Too Hot to Handle, Love is Blind, and The Circle. The concept of the show is simple enough: try to find your perfect match in a house full of people who are on the same page as you.

It turns out that not everyone was on the same page! Things got pretty messy thanks to unexpected love triangles, emotional breakups, dramatic exits, and more. All we can hope for is that Season 2 will be on its way to Netflix for binge-watching soon enough. These are some of the most shocking moments from Season 1.

Joey’s proposal to Kariselle

via Netflix

Joey and Kariselle are broken up now. Their relationship remained strong from the start, so it seemed like they’d make it past the show. Audiences were shocked when he pulled out an engagement ring and proposed at the end of Season 1. She said “yes” while the cameras were rolling, but things fell apart for the couple afterward.

Dom and Georgia winning the title of “Perfect Match”

via Netflix

Apparently, Dom and Georgia broke up after the show too. A lot of people expected Joey and Kariselle to win the title of “Perfect Match,” but the metaphorical crown ultimately went to Dom and Georgia by one vote. Despite winning, they’re no longer together either.

Francesca dumping Dom for Damian

via Netflix

Francesca stunned everyone when she ditched Dom (who was completely loyal to her) for Damian. Her brief interest in Damian back in the day got the best of her in the heat of the moment. Dom was left sobbing over the heartache. When Damian asked Francesca to be his girlfriend at the end of Perfect Match, she politely declined and called things off with him.

Abbey calling Bartise out

via Netflix

Abbey called Bartise out for his messed up behavior –– and he deserved it. Bartise treated Nancy horribly on Love is Blind. It’s not shocking at all that he maintained that same energy on Perfect Match. He threw Abbey’s private words back at her in front of the cameras to attack her character, even though she opened up to him in an intimate moment.

Shayne blowing up on Chloe for the hot tub splashing incident

via Netflix

After he claimed he was ready to move forward with Chloe, Shayne still proceeded to blow up at her for the hot tub splash. Shayne pretended he was ready to move forward with Chloe when she invited him back to the villa.

It turns out he was still angry at her for splashing water on him from the upstairs hot tub with Mitchell. He blew up on her and she almost ended things with him for good. He finally apologized before the show ended, but they’re not still together now.

Chase rating Kariselle’s kissing skills a 1/10

via Netflix

Chase rating Kariselle’s kissing skills a 1/10 was mean. Fortunately, he backtracked on that later. Chase ranked Kariselle’s kiss a one out of 10 but eventually, he told her he didn’t actually mean that. He gave her and Joey his stamp of approval on their relationship as well.

Ines was the first girl to exit the show by choice

via Netflix

Ines was the first girl to walk out by choice without a match, even though she had several options of dudes to pick from. Ines knew she was over it as soon as she was over it. She didn’t care to beat around any bushes or waste time with the wrong matches. She cut her time in the villa short because she wanted to.

The fact that Izzy wanted Bartise

via Netflix

Izzy went after Bartise with all her energy. Weird. Izzy is a jaw-dropping beauty. Her interest in Bartise was confusing. She seemingly came to her senses in the end when she explained that she didn’t see him as her perfect match beyond the show.

Mitchell’s f-boy behavior as a virgin

via Netflix

Mitchell claims to be a virgin who’s waiting for marriage, yet doesn’t want to marry anyone for at least eight years. If Mitchell is indeed a virgin, that’s not a problem or a bad thing at all. His decision to wait for marriage to be intimate with a partner is fabulous and honorable. The fact that he still showcases f-boy behavior is the weird part of all of this. He leads girls on and will potentially keep messing with people’s hearts for another eight years before settling down.

The entire feud between Francesca and Savannah

via Netflix

It was two baddies going head to head against each other. Francesca and Savannah disliked each other for the entire show — and it never got better. It seemed that they were both threatened by each other. It doesn’t look like a friendship will be forming between those two anytime soon.
