Before you get ready to hop on your next flight, there are a couple of things you should do in order to keep your luggage as safe as possible. No one wants to deal with a ruined vacation because of missing luggage.
Typically, your luggage is filled with items you genuinely need! Imagine landing on the island of Hawaii or Barbados without any of your sunscreen, swimsuits, or flip flops! TikToker @Ssltravel shared a video highlighting a couple of travel tips she thinks everyone should get on board with ASAP.
Snap a pic of your luggage
According to @Ssltravel, snapping a picture of your luggage before boarding your flight is an absolute must. She says, “I take a picture of my suitcase before I check it in. If your suitcase is lost, stolen, or delayed, the airline is responsible for up to $3,800.”
Knowing that the airline will reimburse you up to $3,800 for misplacing your bag is a great incentive to make sure you have photographic evidence of what your luggage actually looks like. You can always describe what your luggage looks like using descriptive words, but a picture will get you so much farther.
Add an AirTag to your suitcase
@Ssltravel’s second tip is to utilize Apple AirTags while traveling. She says, “I pop an AirTag in each one of my bags, so I know exactly where it is when I land. Or if I need to file a claim if it’s lost.” AirTags are popular Apple products for people who want to keep track of their belongings at all times. You can purchase one AirTag for $29 or a pack of four AirTags for $99.
