Professional golfer Paige Spiranic is aware that she lives life under the microscope of public scrutiny, but that doesn’t mean body shaming is something she should be on the receiving end of.
The stunning swimsuit model shared a video on YouTube opening up about some of the negative backlash she received after posting a golf-swinging video on Instagram.
Paige Spiranic clapped back at body shamers
Instead of using a smoothing filter or editing the video to make herself appear slimmer, Paige left the footage authentic and honest. Her comment section was quickly flooded by people dragging her for weight gain and aging.
Paige explained, “I have just felt this immense pressure to look perfect all the time. And that is humanly impossible… no one can do that. Even the most beautiful women in the world don’t always look a certain way.”
Paige Spiranic’s solution for the issue of social media body shaming
After being named Maxim’s Hot 100 leading lady in 2022, Paige has been dealing with the stresses of living up to such a renowned title. Those stresses entail going above and beyond every single day to always look her best. Paige’s body is an important factor in regard to her brand and business, and she’s aware of that.
But does that automatically mean she deserves to be critiqued harshly by strangers online? The answer is no, and Paige’s proposition for solving the issue is for everyone to start behaving in a more inclusive manner.
Toward the end of her video, Paige opened up about her former struggle with an eating disorder earlier in her career. Now, she lives a healthier lifestyle and has a much better relationship with
food and fitness.
