Mystery TV shows about detectives solving crimes have reached new heights in terms of popularity recently.

Audiences love seeing when justice gets served. These TV shows are full of tons of mystery, and they also include law enforcement officials who do their best to solve as many crimes as they can.

Anna Torv plays Olivia Dunham, a special agent in the FBI who works with the Fringe Division of the FBI. In Fringe, this is the sector that deals with odd and strange crimes.

While the show starts off as a typical crime show, the deeper Olivia and her team dig into some of these strange crimes, the more confused they get.

They discover connections to their own personal past, as well as to a parallel universe. Most diehard sci-fi fans know the name J.J. Abrams, one of the men who helped create this show.

The fanfiction.net website has an entire forum dedicated to a Fringe + Criminal Minds potential crossover. Fringe is a must-watch for fans of mystery.

Matt Bomer portrays Neal Caffrey in White Collar, a criminal who has been evading law enforcement for quite some time now. Unfortunately for him, he eventually gets caught by the FBI. Caffrey doesn’t stay locked up for long after figuring out a cunning escape plan.

However, instead of running, the FBI offers him a deal he can’t turn down. In exchange for helping them catch criminals, they’ll clear his name. Fans of mystery will note the similarities of law enforcement officials using criminals to help catch other criminals – one of the main philosophies of profiling.

Elementary

Any Sherlock Holmes show can be easily compared to other awesome mystery shows. However, Elementary puts a twist on the old classic.

Sherlock moves to New York City for rehab where he meets his future partner, Dr. Joan Watson. She’s just had her medical license taken away for losing a patient.

Watson is trying to bring her name back by helping addicts in the streets of Manhattan. Sherlock, on the other hand, decides it is in his best interest to help the police force solve crimes.

The show takes a modern twist with Dr. Watson being a woman, yet still being the muscle for Sherlock. Fans of mystery shows will likely find great enjoyment in watching Elementary because of its charm.

Keeping on the Sherlock Holmes train, Benedict Cumberbatch stars as the famed detective in
the show Sherlock.

Holmes is your typical, smart, know-it-all who helps law enforcement officials despite police having their own views of him. The police think that Holmes is somehow aligned with the crimes taking place in the city due to his cunning knowledge.

They’re also confused by his ability to solve mysteries so quickly. That is not the case, however. Holmes’ famed enemy, Moriarty, takes center stage as well with the detective trying to outwit and outsmart him.

If you enjoy shows filled with mystery, especially while taking note of the villain’s perspective, then you will love Sherlock.

Dexter

via YouTube/@Showtime

In one of the most raved shows of all time, Michael C. Hall portrays Dexter, a forensic analyst
based out of Miami. However, Dexter is not your average forensic analyst.

He himself is a serial killer. Instead of murdering innocent people, he takes out the guilty people in an attempt to justify his actions to himself.

None of his co-workers, or even his sister, knows about this side of him. His father is the one who taught him the tricks of the trade in order to avoid getting caught.

Fans will love seeing one of the “good” guys take out the bad guys in the form of a true anti-hero.
