Hailey Bieber and Selena Gomez are calling a truce

Things only continued getting messier between Selena and Hailey over the last few months following the “over-laminated eyebrows” scandal.

It appears that a white flag is now waving after Selena took to Instagram to tell her fans to stop being so mean to Hailey.

Selena wrote in an Instagram story, “Hailey Bieber reached out to me and let me know that she has been receiving death threats and such hateful negativity. This isn’t what I stand for. No one should have to experience hate or bullying. I’ve always advocated for kindness and really want this all to stop.”

After that, Hailey posted a message on her Instagram story saying, “I want to thank Selena for speaking out, as her and I have been discussing the last few weeks how to move past this ongoing narrative between her and I.”

She continued, “The last few weeks have been very hard for everyone involved in millions of people are seeing so much hate around this, which is extremely harmful. While social media is an incredible way to connect and build community, moments like this only create extreme division instead of bringing people together.”

Hailey further explained that certain things end up getting misconstrued or taken out of context and that she plans to be more thoughtful about the things she says and posts moving forward.

She also mentioned that she hopes people will show more compassion and empathy towards each other beyond this point.
