In our modern era of Tiktok influencers and photoshopped images, it’s hard for the average person to feel as though they stack up.

But good news: it’s more likely than not that you’re more attractive than you think you are. While it’s hard to know what people are thinking, there are a few surefire signs that can lend evidence – and hopefully boost your confidence.

According to TIktok influencer Kelsei Amiyah, there are three specific things you should be looking out for.

Babies and youngsters always stare at you

The first is seeing if babies and small children smile or take time to look at you.

“Scientists actually found evidence that babies can distinguish an attractive person from an unattractive person,” Kelsei says.

If they smile, wave, or just seem to want your attention, this is a pretty good sign – after all, babies and children don’t often bother with social norms, and aren’t embarrassed to be caught staring at someone they think is pretty.

People take time to compliment you

The second sign: if people compliment you! While hollow flattery exists, Kelsei notes that “most of the time, people just don’t hand out false compliments.”

If someone is taking the time to let you know that they think your hair, eyes, sense of fashion, or any other part of you is appealing, take them at their word!

More often than not they’re trying to express admiration – and thinking positively of people can not only help boost your confidence but give you a more optimistic outlook on life.

You’re treated like royalty

Finally, and most compellingly: do people treat you like royalty? Do they often seem to want to do you favors, or give you a break when things go wrong?

Citing a psychological article from Forbes, Kelsei wryly notes that “beauty is a powerful tool of persuasion – in other words, pretty privilege is real.”

While the exact reasoning is murky, it does seem to be an undeniable fact that people who are more physically attractive tend to have things slightly easier: “people want to spoil them,” Kelsei emphasizes.
