Nicole and Sofia Richie are the daughters of famous singer/songwriter Lionel Richie. The two have different biological mothers, with Nicole being the oldest by sixteen years. Nicole was adopted by Lionel Richie and his ex-wife Brenda Harvey back in 1983.

Nicole and Sofia have always been private with their family matters and relationships. Still, they are said to be quite close to one another. In fact, during the 2020 lockdown, the pair collaborated on a new fashion collection for Nicole’s fashion company House of Harlow. The collection features chic Bohemian styles and can be purchased through fashion retailer Revolve.
Things seemed a little rocky between the two when Sofia was dating Kourtney Kardashian’s ex Scott Disick who is much older than Sofia. Due to Scott’s reckless past, Nicole grew concerned about her sister. The two dated for a few years and called it quits in the summer of 2020. The split gave Sofia more time for her sister, reuniting their closeness.
Most recently, Nicole took to Instagram to share a selfie celebrating Sofia’s new engagement to 10k project owner and son of the Chairman and CEO of Universal Musci Group Elliot Grainge. She wrote a caption saying, “Can’t wait to find ways to make this about me.” She also reposted Sofia’s proposal photo; in the caption, Sofia tells Elliot, “Forever isn’t long enough.”
It seems like the two are closer than ever. Given Sofia’s recent engagement, we can assume that Nicole will most likely be assisting her with wedding planning. She has already had that experience, marrying lead vocalist Joel Madden of the punk rock band Good Charlotte back in December of 2010.
