One thing Miley Cyrus does best is changing up her image, the music genres she fits into, and more. She has never stayed in one particular box when it comes to her career.

She’s branched out and tried so many different avenues over the years. This is probably why she’s got such a wide range of fans.

Whether you started liking her during her early days on Disney Channel, during her Hip Hop phase, or during her rock music phase, there’s something about her that’s absolutely magical.

Hannah Montana (2006 – 2010)

From 2006 to 2010, Miley Cyrus took on the persona of Hannah Montana on Disney Channel. She was quite young getting started on the sitcom at only 12 years old. In the show, she played the role of a little girl living a double life as a normal middle school student and a pop star.

She was able to keep her identity a secret with the help of her father, brother, and two best friends. One of the most memorable songs from this era is “The Best of Both Worlds” which was also the show’s theme song.

Can’t Be Tamed (2010 – 2012)

Can’t Be Tamed was a Miley Cyrus album and era lasting from 2010 to 2012. During this time, Miley was trying to break free of the squeaky clean Disney Channel image she’d been dealing with from the early part of her career.

With this album, she pushed the boundaries with edgy lyrics and a lot more skin exposure than her fans were used to. She was pretty much trying to tell the world she was ready to grow up. And the world heard her loud and clear.

Bangerz (2013 – 2014)

Bangerz is an unforgettable Miley Cyrus album an era that lasted from 2013 to 2014. Who could ever forget that this is the time she performed on stage with Robin Thicke… and a giant foam finger.

This was the era when Miley dabbled in Hip Hop, Twerking, and recorded collaborations with major rappers including French Montana, Future, Big Sean, Ludacris, and Nelly.

Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz (2015 – 2016)

From 2015 to 2016, Miley Cyrus and her Dead Petz was an album fans were listening to even though it wasn’t released in the traditional way.

Miley dropped the album independently and later allowed it to be released commercially on iTunes and other streaming platforms. Miley wanted to do things completely her way without the influence of anyone else and that’s exactly what she accomplished.

Younger Now (2017)

In 2017 Miley Cyrus released her album Younger Now and it included the song “Malibu”, a beautiful ballad meant for Liam Hemsworth.

There is something very poetic about her choice to name the album Younger Now. Although she’s older than she was when her career first started, she feels free to be herself in the same way she wanted to experience freedom as a child.

She Is Coming (2018 – 2019)

2018 to 2019 was the She is Coming Miley Cyrus era which has a 98% approval rate based on Google voters.

The album includes music that fits into the R&B, Rock, and Hip Hop music genres proving that once again, Miley can be extremely versatile with her music taste. She doesn’t fit into one box. Ever.

Plastic Hearts (2020)

Miley’s 2020 album is called Plastic Hearts and it was released at the perfect time. This album mainly includes Rock music but also includes some songs that fit into the Country category as well as the Pop category.

Endless Summer Vacation (2023)
