Nickelodeon legend Miranda Cosgrove may be acting again, but true fans know just amazing her brief music career was.
iCarly is synonymous with Miranda Cosgrove, the TV show had six seasons in the span of five years and is currently having a successful reboot. While most fans are content with the return of their quirky Carly Shay, however, we can’t help but wonder if the Nickelodeon star will ever return to the studio.
A serious accident derailed Miranda Cosgrove’s music career
With hit likes “Kissing You”, “Leave It All To Me” and “About You Now”, everyone thought Cosgrove had a bright future in pop music but that would soon be short-lived. Cosgrove would go on a bus tour to promote her debut and get in a serious accident. Everyone on the bus sustained injuries, with Miranda Cosgrove breaking her ankle. On top of paying for the bus damages, Cosgrove had to cancel the rest of the tour, which still had 25 dates to go.
Blast reports that this initially cost Miranda Cosgrove millions and that her label at the time, Sony, dropped her. Shortly after the accident, we wouldn’t see the star for some time. It turns out that Miranda Cosgrove went on to attend the University of Southern California.
Miranda Cosgrove has had other focuses above new music
According to The List, Cosgrove originally pursued a degree in film but ultimately changed her major to Psychology. Cosgrove also stated that her father has a degree in Psychology as well which inspired her decision to switch her major.
Besides her return to acting with the iCarly reboot, Cosgrove seems to be leading a pretty lowkey lifestyle. And while she has provided any update to her pending music career, fans can continue to watch her reprise her iconic as Carly Shay in the new seasons of iCarly. We look forward to seeing what else Cosgrove will go on to achieve whether it be acting or singing.
