A lack of romance doesn’t mean you should feel insecure
Megan notes that not having a relationship by the time you’re in your 20s and 30s can lead to loads of insecurity.
It can make you question your self-worth. It can also make you start questioning if there’s something wrong with you.
Megan points out, “Even if you’ve never been in a romantic relationship, you can still foster so many incredibly important qualities of intimate relationships in your platonic, friendships. You can practice relationship skills in more than just romance.”
In other words, you’ll still be thoroughly prepared for your first romantic relationship when it comes along based on the way you treat your besties.
You’re not sexually involving yourself with your friends, but that doesn’t mean you’re not still showcasing your nurturing side, your empathy, and your thoughtfulness.
No one knows for sure when they’ll cross paths with their soulmate, but until then, rest assured that things will come naturally if you’ve already proven yourself to be a caring person with your friends.
