Whether you’re engaged to be married, you’re already married, or you simply daydream of your wedding day someday, thinking about wedding day trends is always a fun pass time.
With the hype of the new Barbie movie starring Margot Robbie, conversations about Barbie-themed weddings are at an all-time high.
TikToker and wedding expert @TheFinanceBrides, aka Courtney, shared a video talking about the notion of Barbie-themed weddings as a potential new trend on the rise.
Barbie-themed weddings might not be a vibe
Courtney says, “Everyone keeps saying this is going to be trending in the wedding industry, but I personally can’t see it.
“The trend is Barbie-themed weddings. Don’t get me wrong, I can see bridal showers having a Barbie theme or even a Barbie-themed bachelorette… that has always been such a popular theme.
“But I don’t know. For some reason, everyone keeps saying that with the new Barbie movie, people are going to have Barbie-themed weddings.
“It might just be me, but if I told my partner I wanted to have a Barbie-themed wedding, he would probably think I’m clinically insane and reconsider marrying me.”
Courtney is absolutely right that a fun Barbie theme works well for events such as a bridal shower or bachelorette party.
When it comes to the wedding day, though, it might not have the same level of charm.
There’s something very girly, playful, and feminine about celebrating an event with a Barbie theme.
But the person you’re marrying should also feel like their needs are being met on the wedding day, too.
If they also happen to be an avid fan of Barbie dolls, having a Barbie-themed wedding would make sense.
But if the idea of something like that is a little too much for them, it might be best to save this idea for the bridal party and/or bachelorette party.
