The defamation trial between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard was absolutely insane when it was taking place in 2022.
People were live-streaming the trial on TikTok, cracking jokes on Twitter, making memes on Instagram, and turning the entire thing into a chaotic circus.
Now that the dust has settled and time has passed, it looks like people are starting to possibly reevaluate their original opinions.
The new documentary on Netflix, Depp v Heard, is a huge catalyst as to why so many opinions might be starting to shift.
In the midst of the trial, the popular route was to take Johnny’s side. The socially acceptable thing to do was to accuse Amber of lying about everything.
After watching the Netflix documentary, it seems that a lot of important facts were left uncovered… like an alleged text conversation where one of Johnny’s staff members admitted that he saw Johnny KICKING Amber on a private plane.
Social media has a lot to say about ‘Depp v Heard’ on Netflix
It’s no secret that Johnny and Amber’s marriage was incredibly toxic.
Ultimately, after watching the documentary it seems pretty clear that the abuse between the former couple went… both ways.
Since the abuse was (very likely) mutual, it makes you wonder why everyone was so quick to claim everything coming out of Amber’s mouth was completely false the entire time.
Based on some of the evidence given in the documentary, it also appears that a lot of the abuse coming from Amber’s end was reactive based on things that were happening to her.
It’s obvious that Amber wasn’t the “perfect victim” since she fully admitted to hitting Johnny in an audio recording that was presented in the courtroom.
Ultimately, the question remains: If the abuse was mutual, why is Amber the only one who was so heavily vilified?
