Think about your physical and mental health for a minute. No matter how much you love or need your job, your health and well-being should always come first.

Your physical and mental health are two things that should be prioritized above any obligation you may have, including your job.

It’s perfectly fine to say “no” to work requests if you know you have to prioritize your health –– or the health of a loved one.

No one wants to deal with illnesses, however minuscule or serious they might be.

When you’re trying to heal yourself from the inside out, splitting focus between your well-being and all your work-related stressors isn’t a smart route to take.

If you put yourself in a situation where you’re neglecting your physical and mental health to focus on your job, the quality of work you produce will undoubtedly suffer.

To make matters worse, your physical or mental health will also undoubtedly worsen.

It’s okay to fall back, take a break, and work on some necessary healing before shifting focus back to your job.

A workplace that truly cares about you and respects you will allow you the chance to reset and recuperate.

A workplace that has a problem with you healing your physical and mental health isn’t a place for you to work at, anyway.
