Show yourself some respect and love by enjoying your vacation without worrying about work responsibilities.
For some people, getting a little bit of work and on vacation is the norm because they absolutely love their job.
For others, the pressure of nonstop calls and emails pouring in is too difficult to ignore.
Still, you seriously shouldn’t be working while you’re on vacation. Consider the following before making this mistake.
Working on vacation is a mistake. Stop it!

When you’re taking a break from work on vacation or you’re cashing in your PTO, hopping on work calls and answering timely emails shouldn’t be your concern.
No matter how much of a workaholic you might be, and no matter how pushy your management team might be, it’s your job to say no to taking on any work assignments while you’re taking time off work.
Vacations and PTO are you a chance to relax and rejuvenate. If you’re working straight through the days you’re supposed to be chilling out, there’s no way you’ll feel refreshed by the time you clock back in.
Working on vacation is going to lead you down the path of a few terrible things.
1. You’ll miss out on creating positive memories with the loved ones you’re on vacation with. They deserve your time and attention, too!
2. You’ll likely turn in work assignments that aren’t of the highest quality since you’ll be very distracted with everything surrounding you on your vacation.
3. You’ll end up dealing with burnout if you never give yourself the chance to truly let loose and relax.
Instead of allowing any (or all) of these things to become your reality, turn your work notifications off while you’re on vacation and enjoy yourself.
