Are you struggling to control your finances? Do you need a plan that doesn’t cause total confusion or involve far too many steps?

The 50/30/20 budgeting plan may be for you!

I have ADHD, so keeping things simple and “to the point” is a must for me. My husband and I tried numerous budgeting ideas before we found the 50/30/20 plan.

They involved far too many steps, and we ultimately gave up in the end.

And, what can happen if you don’t have a budget? You can end up in a financial disaster.

Get your money in cash

Next time you get paid, get all your money in cash. Reportedly, you’re less likely to spend your money when you can physically see it as opposed to swiping a card.

Face it, it’s so easy to swipe a card when you don’t know the exact amount on it. What we don’t want though, is to be oblivious to our expenses.

Divide your money

Physically divide your money into three sections. 50% goes to bills, 30% goes to needs and wants, and 20% goes to savings.

If you happen to be behind on your important expenses, use that 20% to get yourself caught up, then start saving.

Most people pay their bills by card, so feel free to add that 50% to your bank account after you’ve physically held and divided it. Then, immediately schedule or make those payments.

Add the 20% to your savings account, and keep the 30% in cash for needs and wants. But, remain logical about spending on your wants.

It’s that simple

It is honestly that simple. Whether you’re neurodivergent like me or not, you’re definitely trying your best to keep up with life’s demands.

Use this simple budgeting plan to not only benefit yourself financially, but relieve the stress of financial stability as well.
