Whether or not Halloween is a holiday you vibe with, it’s interesting to see where it ranks in terms of popularity in the United States.

Tons of holidays are celebrated in America every single year, but how beloved is Halloween compared to the rest of them?

Statista shared a precise list of the most popular national and religious holidays celebrated in America as of this year.

Here’s where Halloween falls on the chart.

Is Halloween super popular in the USA?

It turns out that Halloween is equally as popular as New Year’s Eve when it comes to popularity as an American holiday.

Halloween and New Year’s Eve both pulled in 67% of votes underneath several other holidays that are thought of as WAY more popular.

Martin Luther King Jr. day and Labor Day are tied at 69%.

Father’s Day and Easter are tied at 72%.

Mother’s Day pulled in 76% when it comes to popularity.

Memorial day, Veterans Day, and Christmas are all tied at 77%.

Drum roll, please… The most popular holiday in the USA is Thanksgiving with 82% of votes.

Although plenty of people might’ve guessed that Christmas would beat out Thanksgiving, that thought is incorrect.

The holiday that focuses on eating delicious food actually snags the top spot over the holiday that focuses on gift-giving!

It seems slightly shocking that holidays like Memorial Day and Veterans Day rank so highly, but since these days often offer time off work, it makes sense that so many Americans would appreciate them.

Interestingly, enough, Halloween beat out both St. Patrick’s Day and Valentine’s Day! St. Patrick’s Day pulled in 61% while Valentine’s Day only pulled in 58%.
