Change your thought process

She explains that once she stopped obsessing over diet culture, she started to see results.

Diet culture teaches us that dieting and restricting food are the two main options to help us lose weight. Truthfully, it causes burnout and we often give up.

Building a healthy relationship with food allows us freedom. By changing our obsession with food and dieting, we can stop feeling stuck and end the rat race that results in nothing.

Learn how to heal your inner self

Our beliefs can keep us stuck and make us feel incapable of weight loss, or make us feel less confident about ourselves. The power of the mind is truly unbelievable.

She explains that the core fundamental stories that lie within us are part of the reason we are not seeing results.

Many times our subconscious tells us things like, “I am not good enough to lose weight,” or “What if losing weight causes me to receive unwanted attention?”

Changing the way we think, and healing our inner self, helps us to move forward and finally see the changes we hope for.

Andrew Huberman, a scientist at Stanford University conducted a study that proves this exact logic.

In this study he had a group of people who worked on changing their inner beliefs and a group that did not.

Those who worked on healing their inner self saw fat reduction and reduction in waist size.

Stop stressing

We have to stop stressing ourselves out.

We are often trying intermittent fasting and taking part in high intensity workouts. Stressing over our bodies, our weight, if we did enough exercise, and so on can actually result in weight gain.

Stress causes cortisol levels to increase. When cortisol is blasted through the body it slows the metabolism, increases blood sugar, and causes other issues that aren’t helpful to our bodies.

Stop stressing and start healing. Guilia mentions that healing our mental and emotional pain results in weight loss.

Do what makes you feel good

There are always going to be trending diets and workouts. But, they aren’t made for everyone.

Many of us feel pressured to keep up with what is trending. When, in reality, we need to listen to our bodies and do what makes us feel good.

She explains that doing workouts we enjoy is empowering to our bodies.

Our bodies tell us what they need. For instance, when we need a break, it is essential to take time to rest. We need to have a relationship with our bodies that makes us feel happy.

Guilia leaves us with this quote, “Learning how to do your healing from the inside out, instead of focusing on constantly fixing your food and your body, is the key to you truly having the life you want and the body you want.”
