Multiple Reddit threads have been launched to discuss Ariana Grande‘s new song “Yes, And?” As of now, many of Ariana’s fans aren’t particularly loving the track.
Others are pointing out the things they do genuinely appreciate about her latest single. Here’s what people are saying.
Positive feedback about “Yes, And?” by Ariana Grande
One person wrote, “At first I loved it! But now, hearing it well, and reading the lyrics, I just líke it so much and that’s it. Very catchy! My only complaint is that the intro is too long. The rest is fine, perfect for dancing, self-motivate, etc.”
Another excitedly added, “Ahh it’s such a bop!! i love how different it sounds, i was just smiling (and excited) when i heard the intro, can’t believe she’s back, felt surreal hearing her voice again.”
A third Redditor wrote, “I like it. I enjoy housey, dancey, music so its a given for me. but i think some of the choices in here were interesting.”
“’Be Alright’ is one of my fave songs by her, and I’ve been waiting forever for her to make another vogue-ish song so this personally hit the mark for me,” another fan said.
Another satisfied listener noted, “Sounds exactly like Madonna I love it.”
Meh feedback about “Yes, And?”
Some fans are riding the fence when it comes to Ariana’s new song. One wrote, “I like it but I don’t love it… its a fun song but I was expecting something a bit better for her comeback .. :/ it’s nice to see her try something a bit different though.”
“I’m conflicted. I want to love it because she hasn’t released anything in years…but I can only like it at best and that’s so disappointing to me,” another fan added.
A third said, “Good, not gr”eat. It feels like Baby I. Good, but not a lead single. It’s missing something.”
Another listener joined the chat to say, “Mid. mid mid mid. I’ve been a huge fan of Ariana since victorious and one of the worst things has been to watch her artistry become watered down as the years go on.”
“It doesn’t seem remarkable in terms of the music, but it’s a fun little bop that I’ll keep on replay,” someone else wrote.
Purely negative feedback about “Yes, And?”
Some music listeners are thoroughly upset. One Redditor wrote, “It sounds like a cheap and kinda shallow empowerment song defending one’s terrible action. I was hoping it would eat but it left lots of crumbs.”
Another added, “Kinda awful. Also sounds like she could have a lawsuit on her hands if someone on Madonna’s team listens. I don’t see a credit for sampling her. I’m so bored of her airy head voice when she has a powerhouse inside of her too. Not a fan of her these days.”
A third user said, “Terrible lyrics aside. The beat is not it.. vocals feel flat. I’m really disappointed because I was excited.”
“This… is a big miss for me. The lyrics are juvenile, immature, and embarrassing. The whole ‘I’m just doing me, why do you care what I do, I’m just healing and protecting my energy’ lacks self-awareness, is wellness grifter woo-woo nonsense, and has been done to death by her at this point,” someone else chimed in to say.
Another Redditor wrote, “Yeah I don’t like it either, I think the lyrics are incredibly weak and boring. Pair that with her unsavory behavior, I think overall this is a flop.”
