In the new year, Ashley experienced a medical emergency when a bad case of tonsillitis turned into critical septic shock that affected several of her organs.
Ashley, during recovery, expressed gratitude to Paul for his unwavering support confirming their relationship.
A touching Instagram post showed Paul kissing her forehead and holding her hand, revealing the depth of their bond.
“You calmed my fears and held me through ambulances, three foreign hospitals, a week in the ICU, scary ERs, countless scans and tests and injections, excruciating pain, and so much confusion all while we were alone on the other side of the world far from those we know,” she wrote. “I love you Paul. More than I can ever say.”
Paul has also been supportive of Ashley in other ways.
In July 2023, Ashley told People that her boyfriend — whose identity she did not confirm at the time — was “so supportive” of her success.
“I’ve just never been with someone so supportive,” she said. “And not supportive like, ‘Oh, that’s so cool for you,’ but who genuinely feels happiness when I do.”
