What is micro-flirting?

When you “micro-flirt“ with someone, you’re letting them know you’re interested in a subtle way without coming on too strong.

The reason micro-flirting is so popular is that it gives you the opportunity to protect yourself from rejection and heartache in a sense.

Since you’re micro-flirting, you’ll have room for plausible deniability in case the person you’re interested in doesn’t feel the same way.

When you lay it on thick and let them know you’re interested straight away, there’s no place for you to run and hide if you find out they don’t feel the same way about you.

When you’re micro-flirting, you can always just pass it off as being nice.

Examples of micro-flirting

Exchanging compliments that go beyond physical appearances is a great example of micro-flirting.

This would mean complimenting someone for their ambition, work ethic, or positive energy rather than the way they look.

Another example is noticing when someone makes small changes in their appearance. If someone points out the fact that you’ve parted your hair on a different side than usual, odds are, they are micro-flirting with you.

Pay attention to how close people stand near you and look at the direction of their feet. Hints of micro-flirting are easy to notice if you are really staying on the lookout for them.
