Mindset shift

“What stories have you created around your body and around weight loss?” Tiff asks.

Take the time to slow your thoughts down and process each limiting belief you have around you being able to lose weight. 

Whether that’s you believing you’re not disciplined, believing you’re never going to be able to lose weight, or believing you can’t be a healthy weight because no one in your family is.

 It’s whatever negative patterns you’ve created in your head that have manifested into your life.  Stay dedicated to rewiring them into more positive beliefs about yourself. 

Emotional Regulation

Once you’ve worked on your mindset, you can focus on your emotional regulation.

“What emotions and trauma are you storing in your body?  Your body tends to hold onto weight as protective armor to keep you safe.  So, you have to allow your body and your nervous system to realize you are safe.”

Stress can also lead to weight gain. It causes your cortisol levels to shoot up, which means the weight can’t be released.

Your body is just trying to do its job by keeping you safe and comfortable. Let your body and nervous system relax by taking back control of your emotional regulation yourself.

Intuitive Eating

Once you’ve started rewiring your subconscious and regulating your emotions, you can start to understand the importance of intuitive eating.

“That’s eating in ways that feel good and natural to your body and not in ways that that hot little 20-year-old influencer told you to eat.  It’s allowing your body to tell you what it needs and when it needs it.”

Instead of following trends or what the next gym guru says, you pay attention to your own personal requirements for your healthiest self.

“This is an acquired skill, so you won’t have it right away.  But there’s little things you can do to practice that, and I promise it will change your whole life and your outlook.”
