Think about the life that you want. Your dream life. Now, add your partner to the picture. Does the vision still make sense to you?

Does your partner want the same things out of life as you?  Would they be happy with the life that you desire?  Would you be happy with the lifestyle that they desire?  Is it possible to compromise?

These are all extremely important questions to ask when making a decision as big as picking a life partner.

TikToker @c.awad, aka Carla, shared a video breaking down some insight.

Lifestyle differences?

“You are not just marrying a person- that man or that woman.  You are marrying a lifestyle”, Carla starts.

Think about the aspects of your life that are most important. Maybe for you that’s traveling, luxury, and religion.

So, imagine trying to start a life with someone who’s afraid of planes, hates spending money, and is an atheist.

Doesn’t make the most sense, right? Right.

While that’s an extreme example, things like this are necessary to pay attention to.

When you choose someone to spend the rest of your life with, that means you two are going to spend a lot of time together.  A lot of the time, your schedules mesh so much to become one.  That’s part of what dedication to a person means!

So, you two preferably share a lot of the same life values, enjoy similar activities, and can compromise easily to avoid stress in your relationship!

“This goes back to actually thinking before you get into a relationship and asking questions like: What do I want out of life?  Who do I want to become?  Who is this person?  What do they want out of life?  Who do they want to become?  Are we going to help each other achieve that?”

Consider all these things and then figure out what kind of life you two would end up having together.

If you really don’t align with the future you’d sign yourself up for by being with them, then search for something that’s more for you.

“What are you really after that’s going to satisfy you?  Think about that before getting into a relationship.”
