If you haven’t heard of Olivia Rodrigo, then you haven’t been living. She’s become a famous actress since her days on the Disney Channel.
But she wasn’t always a well-known name.
Did you know that she didn’t even start her career on Disney Channel? See what Olivia was up to in her early years!
Olivia Rodrigo starred in ‘American Girl: Grace Stirs Up Success’
Before Olivia landed a hit part on Disney Channel’s Bizaardvark, the then-11-year-old, future award-winning singer landed the lead role in the movie An American Girl: Grace Stirs Up Success.
In this movie, Olivia portrayed nine-year-old Grace Thomas, a girl who took her grandparent’s strong passion for baking, when she is suddenly whisked away to the City of Light, Paris, France to help save her grandparents’ failing bakery.
If you were fond of watching schmaltzy, yet endearing direct-to-video adaptations of beloved children’s books, then you might have caught a future superstar without even knowing it.
All celebrities come from somewhere; very few of them begin as instant hits. Perhaps one day, the star in a show or movie you feel that only you have watched may grow up to become famous. And then you can say, “Hey, I recognize them!”
Olivia Rodrigo’s career since then…
It’s public knowledge that Olivia moved on to Disney Channel, but her music career is what has people buzzing the most these days.
Her first album, Sour, was full of tons of popular songs that put Olivia on the map including “drivers license” and “déjà vu.”
In 2023, she released her sophomore album, GUTS. It includes songs like “vampire“ and “bad idea, right?”
