Some people enjoy falling asleep next to the love of their life each evening. Others find the entire setup to be somewhat of a nuisance.
A research study conducted by EachNight analyzed Google searches for terms such as “couples sleep issues” and “how to stop snoring” over the past year.
These are the top states where falling asleep next to your romantic partner has become a massive issue.
10 states with difficulty falling asleep next to their partner
The first state where couples are dealing with nighttime problems is New York. Their troubles rank 14% higher than the US average.
In second place, you’ll find Massachusetts.
Third place is Maryland, fourth place is California, and fifth place is Virginia. Check below for the rest of the top 10 list.

A spokesperson from EachNight says, “Anything from your partner getting up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom, to a sleep disorder such as restless leg syndrome, can make it hard to share a bed.
“This is an especially big problem if you are someone who has trouble falling back asleep once being woken up.
“To resolve this, first and foremost, you need healthy communication with one another, which means discussing it without criticizing. If it’s a result of something that is out of their control, it’ll only cause tension.
“The solution greatly depends on the problem, but once you know the root of it, you can begin trying new ideas until you find the one that works.
“For example, if your partner’s movement is disturbing you, try placing pillows between the two of you.

“The extra space can mean you don’t feel it as much and the pillows can help reduce the motion.
“If this doesn’t help, consider upgrading to a queen-size mattress rather than a twin-size – a memory foam one if you can.
“Or, if your partner snores and the typical tricks, such as them sleeping on their side, aren’t working, you could try earplugs.
“It might take some time, but often you just need an adjustment period and then you can return to getting a good night’s sleep and have your partner by your side.”
