Superhero vibes? Timothee Chalamet recently opened up about a piece of advice from none other than Leonardo DiCaprio himself… “No superhero movies, no hard drugs.”
In a conversation with The New York Times alongside Dune: Part Two director Denis Villeneuve, Timothee reflected on Leonardo’s sage counsel.
“I follow them both!” he added, after filmmaker Denis, jokingly asked, “Which one?”
“But the movie that made me want to act is a superhero movie, The Dark Knight,” Timothee pointed out. “If the script was great, if the director was great, I’d have to consider it.”
In 2021, the enigmatic talent behind some of Hollywood’s most compelling characters, Timothee told Times that “one of my heroes” gave him the “no superheroes and no hard drugs” advice.
At the time, he did not specify who gave him that advice, joking, “I can’t say who or he’d kick my ass.”
Leonardo’s advice, a mantra that Timothee revealed in 2022 as his “career rule” was imparted during their initial meeting in 2018.
Timothee has largely steered clear of such roles, opting instead for grounded characters that resonate deeply with audiences.
