Country vibes?! Lana Del Rey has been releasing music for more than a decade now.

Her genre has usually fit into the Sad Core Aesthetic, Dream Pop, and Alternative categories. Now, it’s officially been announced that she is going the Country route.

This isn’t the best news for plenty of diehard Lana stans who’ve been around for the long haul. A lot of people have been hoping she would revisit her music vibes from 2017’s Lust for Life or 2019’s Norman F***ing Rockwell.

There might be a method to the madness, though.

Several Reddit threads have been launched to discuss Lana’s decision to go country, and plenty of people are convinced that this is a strategic business move.

Is going Country all business for Lana Del Rey?

As a reminder, Lana has been nominated for 11 Grammy awards… But she hasn’t actually won a single Grammy yet.

She’s been snubbed countless times, and it has been a massive disappointment year after year.

She’s been nominated for “A&W,“ “Norman F***king Rockwell,“ “Young and Beautiful,“ and more.

Some fans are noting that the Country album category is much less competitive, which will provide her with a better chance of taking home a Grammy.

Others are stating that Lana’s decision to make a Country album will expose her to millions of new fans, who likely wouldn’t given her a chance before.

Other Lana stans aren’t convinced this move is purely strategic, though.

They think Lana is simply experimenting with a new genre because she’s ready to explore an individually untapped musical avenue.

To bring a little solace to anyone feeling sad about Lana‘s decision to go country, just think about the nine lovely and amazing studio albums we already have from her so far.

There will always be great Lana music to reflect back on, regardless of what direction she goes.
