The fear of being seen is very real. Unless you’re a noteworthy celebrity who’s spent your life in front of flashing cameras, it’s totally normal to feel freaked out by the idea of being seen by others.
Ultimately, in this day and age, your social media presence is a form of currency.
Whether people want to admit it or not, you’re taken more seriously based on your follower count on various social media platforms.
By the way, this is why so many people are bummed about the TikTok ban situation. TikTok is an app where many people have gone viral.
Losing the app means losing some of that social currency. Personally, I have just under 14k followers on TikTok and less than 3k on Instagram.
Obviously, I’d much rather keep my TikTok than my IG – but we don’t get to control every outcome in this life!
Fortunately, it’s still possible to utilize social media if you’re interested in starting a business, writing a blog, launching a podcast, becoming a vlogger, living as a full-time content creator, or even getting into publication promotion (like me, with my lifestyle brand).
As a reminder… if the TikTok app goes under, it’ll still be possible to build your social currency on apps like Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube.
On Self-love Saturday, here’s the number one tip you’ll need to overcome the fear of being seen by others.
