Towns like Jim Thorpe and Dingmans Ferry make the Poconos such a special and enticing place to visit.
Here’s what you should know about these stops before you set up an official vacation itinerary in the Poconos this year.
Jim Thorpe offers tons of history
Travelers who have never visited Jim Thorpe should consider trying this town at some point. Jim Thorpe returned in the early 19th century thanks to several Victorian tourists and millionaires.
Fast forward to now, and it’s now home to the Jim Thorpe Fall Foliage Festival every year. It’s a time to have fun with food crafts, and train rides.
Travelers can still enjoy Jim Thorpe every month of the year, though. The Old Jail Museum, Asa Packer Museum, and the Stabin Museum are full of artifacts to admire and discuss.
Dingmans Ferry has gorgeous hiking trails
Residents who choose to settle down in Dingmans Ferry are in luck if they hope to find beautiful hiking trails full of waterfalls.
Some hiking trails include Deer Leap Falls, Fulmer Falls, and Dingman Falls. Although hiking trails are easy to find anywhere in the Poconos, hiking trails with such picturesque waterfalls can be found in Dingmans Ferry.
Other pleasant things to try include visiting the Poconos Snake & Animal Farm and George W. Child’s Park.
