Tyra is a mother to one, and while she has been generally quite private about her son, Tyra’s made several statements on the topic of motherhood.

She always wanted a child… very much
In 2015, Tyra had opened up about her difficulties having children, including the struggle of managing her cosmetics line and her menopause creeping up.
Tyra had told People, “When you’re like, ‘OK, I’m just going to do it,’ then it’s not so easy as you get older. […] “It’s difficult as you get older. It’s not something that can just happen.”
She is open to adoption
Tyra is open to any avenues with which to have children. She once told the Telegraph, “After York was born, I was planning more children but it’s not so easy for me because I couldn’t carry my son […] I might adopt one day – I’ve always wanted to adopt, actually,” she muses.
In 2016, she had her first son via surrogacy, which means that she had someone help delivery her and her partner Erik Asla’s child.
She absolutely adores her son
Since having her son York, Tyra’s life couldn’t have been more fulfilling. Out of the scathing paparazzi and gossip, Tyra enjoys raising York to be a great man in the future. “I love coloring with him.
“It transports me back to my elementary school [days]. We color all over the pages adding detail and squiggles, and it brings both of us such joy. We also have lots of fun combining words together to create new ones — looks like he gets that from his mama!”
