Sometimes, a show comes out as such a big hit, you only have to ask, “When are we getting more?”
While there are no guarantees in the risky entertainment industry, we have a few shows in mind that have teased or left enough room for a potential spin-off, prequel, or sequel, including popular but concluded shows like Orange is the New Black.
Orange is the New Black
Orange is the New Black ended in 2019, but that doesn’t stop the possibility that the world could be further explored in a spin-off.
The subject of a spin-off largely revolves around the postscript adventures of Alex Vause, played by actress Laura Prepon.
However, the actress doubts that such a spin-off is actively in the works. “I don’t think [Jenji Kohan] wants to do that… I think she wants to see some daylight.”
Nevertheless, she and some of her co-stars regularly express interest in seeing
House of the Dragon
House of the Dragon, itself a spin-off of the wildly popular Game of Thrones, introduced a number of interesting new plotlines and characters to follow up.
Indeed, a year before House of the Dragon premiered, HBO announced a spin-off starring Corlys Velaryon, a well-traveled adventurer, called The Sea Snake.
Penned by Bruno Heller of The Mentalist, The Sea Snake proves that Game of Thrones still has quite a bit of life left.
Peaky Blinders
Peaky Blinders, starring Cillian Murphy, had finished its run in 2022, but for those who are interested in the further adventures of the cast in this setting, you’re in luck.
Multiple spin-offs to the franchise, including a prequel focusing on Polly Gray, matriarch of the Shelby family, have been heavily rumored to be in the works by Netflix.
While nothing has been officially announced, reputable sites like Bloomberg all but state that you should keep your watching schedule open for more Peaky Blinders.
