Having the freedom to work from home is something that shouldn’t be taken for granted. Plenty of people wish they had the chance to land remote roles.
If you’re currently working remotely, but you’re unhappy about it because it feels so very boring to you, consider these hacks to spruce up your day.
Set up a gorgeous home office

The space where you’re working matters. If your environment sucks, odds are, you’re not going to feel very happy in your circumstances.
Go out of your way to set up a gorgeous office space to make your work hours feel more pleasant.
A nice desk, chair, and laptop setup are just the beginning. Add a flower pot, wall art, color-coordinated supplies, and whatever else tickles your fancy.
Link up with fellow remote workers

Find out which of your friends is currently working remotely and see if they want to link up with you to get work done together.
If you’ve got a friend or two in your local area to work remotely with, your days will feel far more breezy.
You can also connect with other remote workers you haven’t crossed paths with yet using Meetup. Meetup offers remote worker groups in just about every city.
Work from your favorite coffee shop or library

Sometimes, all it takes to get through a lonely day is a bit of human interaction.
Head over to your favorite coffee shop or library on days when you don’t want to be cooped up inside your house by your lonesome.
Coffee shops and libraries are often staffed by employees who will make you feel welcome upon arrival.
Schedule trips where you can work remotely

If you’re going to work remotely, why not work remotely from the beach? Think about scheduling trips where you can get your work done in places that are enticing to you.
Beach towns in California or Florida might be calling to you. Mountain towns in Colorado or Vermont might pique your interest instead.
You have freedom of location as a remote worker, so take advantage of it.
