Now that House of the Dragon Season 2 is here, fans are more obsessed than ever with the beautiful backdrops and filming locations that bring each scene to life.
There’s no denying that Season 2 is gearing up to be just as intense as Season 1 and just as wild as Game of Thrones in its entirety.
ARKA just conducted a research study to uncover the most popular filming locations from the beloved TV show. Here’s what they found out.
Saint Michael’s Mount in the United Kingdom is the most popular House of the Dragon filming location.
ARKA says that interest in Saint Michael’s Mount has surged with a total of 2.15 million searches, hashtags, and social media mentions.
You might recognize Saint Michael’s Mount as the place where tons of House of the Dragon familial disputes have gone down. It’s also where the Velaryon seat is located.
The second filming location raking in tons of interest happens to be Plaza Mayor in Trujillo, Spain. With a popularity score of 1.94 million, this is where the show’s producers created the main square of King’s Landing.
In third place with a popularity score of 1.62 million, you’ll find the Old Town of Cáceres. If you can recall Daemon and Rhaenyra’s edgy night out on the town, you’ll know exactly where this location is!
In fourth place, Monsanto in Portugal has a popularity score of 1.13 million since it was featured as the Dragonstone fortress.
The fifth most popular filming location from House of the Dragon is Kynance Cove in the United Kingdom with a popularity score of 344.7 thousand. This is the location where Daemon Targaryen raged against the Triarchy.
