One character who might not exactly be on your radar on House of the Dragon is Helaena Targaryen.
It’s easy to forget she’s there in some of the scenes since other characters are so aggressively outspoken with their commentary.
Her dialogue is a bit more rare, but her gentle disposition has helped create somewhat of a loyal fan base across all social media platforms.
Here’s what fans of the show truly think of Helaena.
People are loving Helaena on ‘House of The Dragon’
One person on Reddit wrote, “Helaena is the one truly innocent child of Viserys throughout.”
Someone else added, “Helaena is too good too sweet. That mother f-er is not deserve her.”
The undeserving character they’re referring to is Aegon Targaryen, of course. As a reminder, Aegon frequents brothels even though Helaena is his wife. And no one deserves to be cheated on, even though their marriage is built of an incestuous union.
Someone else joined the conversation to say, “I think she’s so sweet. She’s probably one of the few characters in the show that I like and will avidly root for.”
To that, another fan responded with, “Helaena will certainly be the queen; of people’s hearts.”
Comparing Helaena to the late Princess Diana is a huge compliment!
Someone else added, “Helaena is adorable and such a good-hearted person. In the books, there is a very sentimental scene between her, Viserys and her children, just before Viserys dies. I am very unhappy that they didn’t show it to the series.”
Others on social media are highlighting the fact that although Helaena never says much, her mannerisms say everything.
She speaks through body language and the few words she does mutter out loud every once in a while.
A huge conversation about Helaena right now revolves around whether or not she has prophetic powers.
Is it possible that she’s a psychic who can see visions of the future? Many fans are in agreement that she is the definition of a Dragon Dreamer.
Dragon Dreamers are known for having premonition-like dreaming abilities.
Others believe there’s a chance Helaena could be on the spectrum in terms of autism, which isn’t completely out of the realm of possibility.
Characters with mental disabilities have been created by George R.R. Martin in the past.
