Plenty of music lovers and football lovers who consider themselves to be fans of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are super happy to see this relationship unfold.
Others aren’t convinced that the relationship is actually legit, though.
Tons of social media users have been bashing each other online about their stance on Taylor and Travis‘s love story.
Arguments about whether or not the relationship is a PR stunt are stronger than ever even though Travis went out of his way to shoot his first shot at Taylor in July 2023.
They officially started dating in September of that year! As of this publication, Taylor and Travis have been involved for almost a full year. Technically speaking, PR stunts never tend to last this long.
Here’s what fans are saying in their arguments on social media at the moment.
One fan posted, “I truly believe in my heart of hearts this is a PR stunt. I was arguing with my family, and they all think it’s real. I think this is a great PR move for the NFL to attract a different audience while Taylor continues to grow hers through a different platform.”
Someone responded with a very simple and cut-and-dry answer saying, “They’re a real couple that maximizes the PR out of the relationship.”
A fan who believes the relationship is real commented, “To be fair, his podcast was already the number one Sports podcast since it came out last year. Travis didn’t need any help in that regard and he was already looking at his successful SNL hosting in the rearview before Taylor got on the radar. He was already heading towards that direction before Taylor ever crossed his path.”
Someone who thinks the relationship exists for PR responded, “The NFL could easily have signed a contract with her for $100 to 200 million dollars for her to make appearances at all the Kansas City games.”
A fan who’s convinced the relationship is genuine wrote, “I think there is almost no possible way it’s PR. If Travis is a sociopath he could be pretending to love her for the fame. However, I don’t see him that way. Taylor Swift became the biggest artist on the planet, in what world does she need a football player boyfriend to grow her brand?”
Another fan who thinks the relationship is totally fake wrote, “She now has a larger audience and fan base. This is so planned.”
A supporter who loves seeing Taylor and Travis together responded, “I believe it’s real, the chemistry says it all! Both are intelligent, funny, and aren’t bothered by the attention. Honestly, people are really reaching! He’s adjusting to her world. I wish them all the happiness because their romance is a real love story to admire!”
Another user who doesn’t believe the relationship is legit wrote, “I thought at first it was true but now I believe it is PR. I watched the Golden Globes Awards because of Taylor Swift and also to see if Travis would be there. There are going to be a lot of broken hearts when these two break up.”
Another fan who has no patience for the negativity added, “Why on earth would Taylor Swift need to pull a PR stunt? She’s a billionaire. She’s known worldwide. She sells out stadiums. Her albums and streaming is just incredible. Why would she need any kind of help? I say it’s real.”
This back-and-forth dialogue will likely go on forever without fans ever finding common ground.
