Here’s what the discourse about Austin and Kaia is looking like at the moment.
One social media user launched to Reddit thread to discuss the dynamics between Austin and Kaia.
They wrote, “Some people say he took the Elvis role too seriously to the point he thinks he is Elvis and started dating Kaia whose age gap between him is the same as Elvis and Priscilla’s.”
Another user responded in defense of the relationship saying, “I think they are both consenting adults and it’s their business. Speaking for myself only, a 10 year age gap is way too much for me, especially when the woman is so young like Kaia. I am a completely different person now at 32 than I was at 22. it’s just two different phases of life imo. but if they are happy, then good for them!”
Another fan who has a completely separate issue with Austin and Kaia’s relationship chimed into the conversation to say, “I don’t have a problem with the age gap. They’re both consenting adults. I do think that she’s in the relationship for publicity reasons. She’s a supposed ‘super model’ but I never ever see her on magazine covers.”
A separate user who wholeheartedly supports the relationship added, “I wouldn’t say problematic but I also initially did not like the age gap simply because Kaia was only 20 when they started dating, but I feel like they really fit well together.”
For the most part, a lot of fans across social media don’t seem to think the age gap between Austin and Kaia is a big deal, nor do they feel like it’s rooted in his connection to his time playing Elvis on the silver screen.
When Austin took on the role of Elvis, it was arguably one of the best and biggest career moves he could’ve made.
The flick pulled in more than $288 million at the box office, which means it was a smashing success since it was filmed on a budget of $85 million.
People are always going to have their own opinions about famous relationships they see in the media, but Austin and Kaia seem to remain unbothered by any outside commentary that pops up.
