There are tons of signs pointing to the fact that Euphoria Season Three may never happen.
If a cancelation happens to the case, tons of viewers are going to be absolutely heartbroken and distraught.
The first two seasons of Euphoria drew viewers in with its engaging and entertaining premise.
Characters like Rue Bennett played by Zendaya and Cassie Howard played by Sydney Sweeney made the show more magnetic.
But as of now, there have been loads of hits against Euphoria that are starting to make fans lose hope about the show’s future. Here’s what you should know.
First, Angus Cloud’s death.
For starters, Angus’s death was absolutely devastating in July 2023. He passed away at the young age of 25 from an accidental overdose.
His death was completely unexpected and came as a massive shock.
He played Fezco on Euphoria, and since he died in real life, the future of his fictional character hangs in the balance as well.
Many fans of Euphoria believe that Angus’s death alone is enough of a reason to shut Euphoria down for good.
Second, Barbie Ferreira’s departure from the show.
Barbie Ferreira decided to part ways with the show last year, which left tons of Euphoria fans feeling super disappointed.
She played Kat Hernandez, a character with an extremely interesting storyline.
Kat’s desire to earn money as a webcam girl was edgy and intriguing. The way she practiced self-love as a plus-sized woman was also empowering to see.
According to Variety, Barbie said, “I don’t think there was a place for [Kat] to go. I think there were places she could have gone. I just don’t think it would have fit into the show. I don’t know if it was going to do her justice, and I think both parties knew that. I really wanted to be able to not be the fat best friend. I don’t want to play that, and I think they didn’t want that either.”
Without Kat in the picture, some fans claim there’s no point in bothering.
Third, Sam Levinson‘s rumored feud with Zendaya.
There are currently rumors swirling around about feud between Zendaya and Sam Levinson. Zendaya plays Rue Bennett in the show, and Sam is the creator of the show.
If it’s true that the creator and lead actress aren’t seeing eye to eye about things behind the scenes, that isn’t a good look for the future of Euphoria.
Rumor has it, Zendaya is annoyed at Sam for shifting his focus over to another show called The Idol instead of giving Euphoria a rightfully necessary level of attention.
Fourth, Jacob Elordi sounded annoyed talking about it.
Jacob Elordi plays Nate Jacobs in the show. His frustration at how long it’s taking to film Season Three isn’t exactly a secret.
During his appearance on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon, he spoke about Season Three saying, “I hope it’s soon, or they’re going to have to Benjamin Button me or something. I’m going to have a bad back walking down the hallway, you know?”
Fifth, Alexa Demie sounded annoyed talking about it as well.
When Alexa Demie was interviewed on a red carpet and asked about the future of Season Three, she sounded just as annoyed as Jacob.
She said, “This sh** is confusing, cuz like I think so, but it’s been a mess. We were supposed to start shooting, but Sam Levinson wrote the Euphoria Season Three script one pile of papers and he spilled coffee on that piece of paper, so now he’s rewriting the script again. Anyway, like, Euphoria is not a priority for the cast, if they have any other projects, which we weren’t supposed to have before, but now we can have, we were told to prioritize them. So, if I had to guess Euphoria Season Three will be out in 2030.”
Sixth, That out of sight, out of mind forgotten vibe.
When something is out of sight for too long, it automatically often leaves your mind as well. Since the hype and hysteria surrounded Euphoria has died off so drastically, it has become somewhat of an out of sight, out of mind subject for fans of the show who were once beyond excited about it.
Seventh, Some stars haven’t been invited back yet.
Some stars fans got familiar with in the first couple seasons of Euphoria have been vocal about the fact that they haven’t been contacted about returning for the third season.
That’s really not a good sign.
One example would be Dominic Fike who was asked about Season Three at the beginning of the year.
He responded by saying, “I don’t really talk to them anymore.”
The actress who played Rue’s mother, Nika King, also revealed that she has no clue about if she’s welcome to return or not.
Eighth, Negative backlash on social media.
The resounding message from social media users is that everyone is really pissed off and irritated by how long it’s taken for the third season to be filmed and released.
On Twitter, one person posted, “Bro I’m not watching Season Three of Euphoria, the show really all over the place and I’m over it.”
Hundreds of other tweets look just like that one. Without a fan base tuning into watch, what would be the point?
Ninth, The mysterious production delay pushed to 2025.
When Season Two of Euphoria was delayed, the excuse of COVID-19 was a valid reason.
The delay of Season Three is both mysterious and frustrating in comparison.
A global pandemic isn’t holding anyone back, so what is the issue? The mysterious production delay that pushed production to 2025 is enough to make fans believe there might not be another season at all.
Tenth, The main stars are landing projects that will possibly make them too busy.
Since it’s taking so long to get the third season into production, the main stars are signing on for bigger projects that are turning them into A-lister who may be way too busy to film a third season of Euphoria when the time finally comes.
Zendaya alone was cast in the Dune franchise alongside Timothee Chalamet among other things. Sydney was the leading star in Anyone But You, Immaculate, and Reality.
If the cast is going to be too busy filming critical roles that will further their Hollywood careers, who’s to say they’ll actually have spare time to make Euphoria Season Three happen?
