Is Selena Gomez officially retiring from music for good?
A few months ago, she opened up about retiring from music after releasing one more album. According to Deadline, she said, “I feel like I have one more album in me.”
Music isn’t the only focus Selena has in her life, so if she officially retires from it, it’s not like she won’t continue being booked and busy.
She’s still an actress who currently stars on Only Murders in the Building. She also runs her cosmetic line, Rare Beauty.
Selena obviously has a lot going for her beyond music!
Here’s what fans have to about her decision to possibly leave music in the dust forever.
One fan who’s going to be super bummed if Selena retires from music career wrote, “I love her albums and a lot of other people do too.”
Another person noted that if Selena retires from music, it could be the best thing she could do for herself in terms of self-care.
They wrote, “She does have chronic health issues. She has lupus, had a kidney transplant, had an artery collapse during the kidney transplant, and bipolar disorder. It’s probably not healthy for her to push herself that hard career-wise.”
Another fan who’s understanding about Selena ditching music behind to focus on acting commented, “She really is super charismatic, I was watching Only Murders and the character would be unlikable ordinarily but she’s endearing bc of Selena in my opinion. Music made her more famous but her talent lies in TV/movies.”
Someone else questioning whether or not Selena will actually come out with a final album wrote, “A lot of actors just go from project to project, depending on what they get cast in or what goes forward, and I think she’s seeing an album as just another project that might work or might not.”
Another social media user who’s confused about Selena’s music career lasting as long as it has thus far added, “Pop star Selena is so strange because she’s been telling us since day one that she’d rather be acting and yet she seemingly keeps signing new deals and releasing new music and then touring it which she also seems to hate. Surely, at her current level of wealth it can’t be a money thing.”
Someone else who genuinely enjoys hearing music from Selena wrote, “I know she really hates touring, but I hope we get at least one small tour from her before she calls it quits.”
