Remember the Netflix hit Set It Up where Glen Powell and Zoey Deutch stole our hearts with their amazing chemistry? 

Well, before Zoey was cast as Harper, do you know who was initially considered for the role?

It was none other than our Mother of Dragons, Emilia Clarke. Yup, Emilia almost played the overworked assistant.

According to reports, after Emilia and Glen were cast in the lead roles, the search for actors to play the demanding bosses was a huge challenge. 

When they eventually found actors, it conflicted with Emilia’s schedule for Games of Thrones and the Khaleesi actress had to drop out of the project. 

It left the door open for Zoey to step in and take our breath away. 

Director Claire Scalon even revealed Zoey was actually considered for the role before Emilia… talk about fate! 

Although MGM productions briefly lost interest when the Game of Thrones star had to drop out, they took a chance on Zoey.

It was a decision they didn’t regret because boy, did it pay off! Set It Up turned out to be a smashing hit. It doesn’t matter how many times you watch it, it always feels as fresh as the first time

After Set It Up, fans of Emilia became desperate to see the actress star in a romantic comedy.

She’s more well-known for serious action roles like Games of Thrones and Solo: A Star War Story.

She already dazzled us in the 2016 romantic tragedy Me Before You, and fans needed to see her in a role where it would be all love and laughter. 

Thankfully, prayers were answered with the 2019 Christmas rom-com Last Christmas.

She snagged the role alongside Crazy Rich Asians star Henry Goulding. It is an absolute delight!
