Most people assume they will age gracefully without taking care of their health. 

But TikTok fitness influencer @Higherupwellness says that’s being delusional. 

“Your life is going to get worse if you don’t start making habits and investments in your body now,” he says in his video.

@Higherupwellness says, “If you’re in your early 20s, mid-20s, 30s, or 40s even and you’re not building those habits right now, you are setting yourself up for a very painful late life. And an expensive one.” 

Health complications aren’t to be toyed with – they are just too painful and expensive to endure. 

So, how do you invest in yourself so you don’t get decrepit as you get older? 

Here’s how you can start investing in yourself to stay healthy and happy as you age. 

Exercise regularly

“And I’m not talking about becoming an elite powerlifter or an ultramarathon.” The influencer points out. 

Make walking a daily habit. Just 10 to 15 minutes a couple of times a day can do wonders for your health. Hit the gym 2 to 3 times a week for at least 35 minutes. 

It’s the consistency that counts, not the intensity of your workouts. 

Find ways to keep your body active and avoid sitting in a place for so long. 

Eat a healthy and balanced diet

If you think wolfing down fast food every day has no consequences, think again. 

You don’t need a fancy diet to stay healthy. 

Focus on balanced meals with plenty of fruits, veggies, lean proteins, and whole grains. Avoid excessive processed foods and sugars. It’s about fueling your body with what it needs to thrive.
