We’ve rounded up 10 interesting bombshells and updates about the Selling Sunset cast following the premiere of Season Eight.
Rumors have been swirling about the show not getting renewed for a ninth season since there’s been so much drama behind the scenes! Here are some updates about the stunning real estate agents viewers have come to know and love.
First, fans of the show are convinced producers are airbrushing the cast.
Viewers who’ve been watching Selling Sunset since Season One say they’re noticing something a little different about the most recent season of the show.
It looks like the cast members are being virtually smoothed out on camera. One social media user asked, “Is Season Eight totally airbrushed? I don’t know if this is a thing. Maybe this is a dumb question. But Season Eight seems uncannily smoothed over unlike any other season. I know everyone has had work done, and I know they’re in heavy makeup. But on other seasons I can see people’s real skin and on this season, everyone looks totally airbrushed and unreal.”
Someone responded by saying there’s a possibility the producers opted for saturated color filtering this time in a way they didn’t bother with for earlier seasons of the show.
Second, Mary Bonnet has weighed in on the drama between Bre Tiesi and Chelsea Lazkani.
According to E!, Mary chimed in about the drama Bre and Chelsea are going through at the moment.
She said, “I think Bre did the right thing. If it were me, I would want somebody to come tell me. I think she handled it with grace. She was sensitive about it. They’ve had their beef in the past. Bre’s not the kind of person that, if she wanted to be rude, she’ll be rude. She’ll lay it out there. But I like Bre a lot. She’s just a very straight shooter, and I respect that.”
However, as a reminder, Mary and Chelsea are not the best of friends in the office. Is there a chance Mary is only siding with Bre because she’s not Chelsea’s biggest fan?
Third, Amanda Lynn shared her thoughts on Selling Sunset’s reality television notoriety on a podcast.
Amanda sat down for a chat on the David Yontef’s Behind The Velvet Rope podcast. While she was there, she opened up about some of the drama that went down on screen in Season Eight.
At one point, she said, “I’m very well aware of how TV production, movies and all of this stuff goes. So I knew what I was signing myself up for.”
As a reminder, Amanda was at the heart of the drama between Chelsea and Bre when she revealed information about Chelsea’s husband possibly having an affair with another woman in front of the cameras.
Fourth, Heather El Moussa jokingly has tension with her husband’s ex-wife.
Former Selling Sunset star Heather is still making waves in the reality TV world, even though she’s no longer part of Selling Sunset. She is currently filming a show called The Flip Off with her husband, Tarek El Moussa, and his ex-wife, Christina Haack.
Tarek described the energy on set as being filled with “tension,” but not exactly in a bad way.
According to Fox Digital News, Heather described the environment saying, “I feel like we’ve all come a long way. We’ve been together five and a half years, married almost three. And everyone’s in a really good place right now. And we’re just having a really good time filming the show and competing against each other. I think people are very excited about The Flip Off because, obviously, you have exes working together again after they were on Flip or Flop for so long. It’s been like a fun, friendly competition.”
Fifth, Nicole Young is a bleach blonde now.
In Season Eight of Selling Sunset, Nicole was rocking long dark hair. All of that has changed with her new updated appearance.
Her hair is a lot shorter and a lot blonder. We’re just keeping it real when we say that she looks fabulous! This haircut and hair color suits her well.
Sixth, Mary Bonnet is not interested in seeing Christine Quinn return to Selling Sunset.
Mary sat down to talk about Selling Sunset on a podcast called The Pop Report. Back in the day, Mary used to have a tight-knit friendship with Christine Quinn.
Obviously, they’ve grown apart. On top of that, Christine is no longer part of Selling Sunset or the Oppenheim Group.
When asked about Christine possibly returning to the show, Mary responded by saying, “No, we have plenty of people that start the drama.”
Although plenty of fans have been pleading for Christine‘s return, there’s been no formal announcement about that happening.
Seventh, some Selling Sunset fans are proudly and boldly rooting for Nicole Young.
It seems more common than ever for Selling Sunset fans to agree on how annoyed they are at Nicole. But there are also some diehard fans of the show who think she’s pretty great.
In fact, a Reddit thread was recently launched to talk about Nicole in a positive light. The Redditor who started the thread wrote, “Hot take. I like Nicole. I’m drawn to her realness. She’s awkward, she’s not overdramatic, and she’s messy when she drinks. She’s surrounded by super polished 100% curated personalities. To me, she’s a refreshing break. Bre also mentioned Nicole is probably the top seller of the girls right now. That tells me Nicole’s actually working.”
Opinions are divided, but the truth of the matter is that there are definitely some Nicole fans out there who are boldly and proudly speaking their minds.
Eighth, some Selling Sunset fans have completely forgotten about Vanessa Villela.
Since Vanessa didn’t stick around on Selling Sunset, several fans of the show don’t remember that she was once part of the cast lineup.
She filmed two seasons of the show before parting ways to join a different agency.
One social media user wrote, “I did a rewatch of the whole series. Did anyone else totally forget about Vanessa? No shade to Vanessa, but I feel like she’s never really mentioned afterwards.”
Someone else responded by saying, “She was too good for the show. It was probably a mutual decision for her to leave. I’m sure the producers were frustrated that she wouldn’t get knee-deep in drama.”
Ninth, fans of the show unsettled about Bre selling her house with water damage.
In Season Eight of the show, it was revealed that Bre was working on selling her house, even though it had visible water damage.
Some fans of the show don’t believe that was an ethical thing for her to do. Others are pointing out that Bre seemed extremely concerned about how much the cost of repairs would cost on the home before selling it.
Based on some of the things Bre has said in the past about being an individually wealthy woman who doesn’t need help from anyone, her concern seemed a tad out of character.
However, there was never any confirmation that mold had grown in the house before Bre listed it for sale.
Tenth, is Amanza Smith trading real estate for an art career?

In a recent Instagram Reel Amanza shared, she seemingly laid it all out on the line when it comes to where her happiness stems from.
The Reel was full of different pieces of art she’s painted recently. Her caption said, “Painting is my medicine. Who’s your favorite artist?“
On Selling Sunset, Amanza hasn’t been the strongest real estate agent in the office. But her art career is proving to be something she might be able to fully transition into.
Her comment section is full of supportive messages from fans. One person wrote, “Your work is so fluid! It’s so vibrant! I love it.”
Could Amanza give up real estate to become a full-time artist?
