The love life of Sabrina Carpenter is a hot topic of conversation, and it likely always will be.

That’s because she’s herself is a hot topic!

Her career as a pop star and actress totally put her on the map, and now the world is beyond curious about who she’s dating and who she’s interested in.

Regardless of what’s going on in the romance department for Sabrina at this very moment, it’s time to break down the rumors we all heard about her rumored relationship with Shawn Mendes back in the day.

Rumors about Sabrina and Shawn started swirling in February 2023 when people claimed to have spotted them on a date together.

Paparazzi snapped pics of them strolling throughout LA together a few days after that.

In March of that year, they attended Miley Cyrus’s album release party, even though they walked out at separate times to make it look like they weren’t together.

Later that month, they were both in attendance at Oscars After Party through Vanity Fair.

Not long after, a source officially confirmed their relationship with Entertainment Tonight.

The anonymous source got very detailed saying, “Shawn and Sabrina are seeing each other. They have been hanging out a lot and trying to keep things low-key. They were at a birthday party together a couple weeks ago and were cute together. Shawn is happy.”

But then, right after that, Shawn outright told RTL Boulevard that he wasn’t dating Sabrina at all!

So, did they go through a breakup or were they never dating at all?

Based on all the evidence that was stacked up, it seemed there was possibly something romantic going on.

Still, Shawn and Sabrina never confirmed anything.

Before rumors about Shawn and Sabrina started making their rounds at the beginning of 2023, Shawn‘s dating history was already extremely interesting to keep up with.

He was in a serious relationship with Hailey Bieber from 2017 until 2018. After that, he dated Camila Cabello From 2019 until 2022.

They temporally seemed to reconcile in 2023 when they were spotted kissing each other at Coachella that year. But there’s been no word on a true Shawn and Camila reconciliation since then.

Shawn outright denied relationship rumors with Sabrina and Sabrina never spoke on the rumors for herself, so we will have to take his statement at face value.

Fans can assume they were hanging out with each other on a romantic level, but the general public will never know for sure unless Shawn and Sabrina decide to share additional details.
