Keep in mind that this ranking was deciphered based on their daily routines, clothes, inheritances, and career breakdowns of each main character – and their parents.

Vanessa Abrams.

It’s pretty obvious that Vanessa is the least wealthy Gossip Girl character ever. She was always super anti-Upper Eastside opulence.

She spent the majority of her time in Brooklyn and she worked multiple jobs to make ends meet including time spent at Rufus’s art gallery and time spent making coffees as a barista.

Vanessa was one Gossip Girl character who always put her nose down, got to work, and did what she had to do to survive.

Jenny Humphrey.

Jenny was constantly trying to prove herself to fit in with her wealthier classmates.

Keeping up with the Joneses was a big deal to Jenny who even went as far as stealing a fancy dress from Hazel‘s mother’s closet to pretend she had as much wealth as the other girls she attended Constance Billard’s private school with.

Jenny‘s lack of wealth was always something that made her feel insecure.

Dan Humphrey.

For the majority of Gossip Girl, Dan’s wealth level was totally in line with his little sister, Jenny.

They both grew up in Brooklyn without having much to offer financially compared to all of their wealthy classmates.

Of course, Dan’s financial life turned around in later seasons of the show when he became a published author.

Georgina Sparks.

Georgina came across as a little more wealthy and well-off than other people on Gossip Girl based on her ability to seduce wealthy men who were willing to be super generous with her.

It’s also clear that Georgina came from a wealthy family with parents who had plenty of money, but her parents’ job titles were always a bit of a mystery.

Serena van der Woodsen.

Serena is the first character who steps into real wealth on Gossip Girl thanks to both of her super-rich parents.

Her dad, William van der Woodsen, is a doctor, lawyer, socialite, and philanthropist. He has a lot going on when it comes to his income.

Serena’s mother, Lily, is also incredibly wealthy after coming into tons of money through multiple divorce proceedings, and inheritances.

Nate Archibald.

The reason it’s safe to say that Nate is next in line for being a highly wealthy character on Gossip Girl is thanks to the money he grew up seeing from his grandfather, Captain Archibald.

Captain Archibald used to be a Navy Captain and retired as a wealthy millionaire. He turned his daughter, Anne into a true socialite before she even gave birth to Nate.

Things got a little messy for Nate when his father got caught up in the world of fraud and embezzlement, but Nate’s wealth in connection with his grandfather still exists.

Nate’s wealth also expanded when he took over The Spectator publication.

Blair Waldorf.

Blair is the second most wealthy Gossip Girl character because of her successful and lovingly doting parents.

Her father is an extremely wealthy lawyer and her mother is a wealthy heiress who launched her own fashion company called Waldorf Designs.

There’s a reason Blaire’s family lives such an elegant and opulent lifestyle.

Chuck Bass.

Chuck is easily the wealthiest, richest, and most successful Gossip Girl character compared to all his friends.

That’s because his billionaire father left him a massive empire behind for Chuck to inherit.

For a minute there, it was easy to doubt Chuck’s ability to take on such a hefty leadership role, but he proved everyone wrong.
