The long-standing friendship between Sabrina Carpenter and Joey King is as precious and sweet as it sounds.

In fact, these starlets were good friends with each other way before they were famous.

Here’s what you should know about the history of Sabrina and Joey when it comes to their tight-knit bond.

Joey opened up about the start of her friendship with Sabrina while speaking with Wired in 2020. She revealed that they met several years ago at some sort of charity event.

Joey said, “Sabrina came over to me and was like, ‘Hi, I’m Sabrina!’ What’s funny is we weren’t always super close. For the first several years of our friendship, we would hang out like once every year and it was the funniest thing in the world, we don’t know why it took us so long to become as close as we are now.”

Sabrina later told Pop Buzz that she would be interested in working on some sort of project with Joey.

She said, “I’ve actually been talking to so many people about this recently because we could totally do a Tina Fey-Amy Poehler-style comedy. We have so much fun together. We had the best time making the ‘Sue Me’ video. Maybe we just have to write it. Maybe we have to do the whole thing. It will be fun when it happens.”

As a reminder, Sabrina and Joey filmed the music video for Sabrina‘s song “Sue Me” together in 2018.

Since then, they’ve handled separate projects that they’ve undoubtedly been proud of each other for.

Joey has continually proven herself as a believable actress in movies and Sabrina‘s music career has been blowing up in the biggest way.

It must be easier than ever for these two to support each other by sharing their excitement for each other’s wins.

Sabrina also opened up about her friendship with Joey with Rolling Stone saying, “Funny thing is, her and I have always known each other and we’ve always been friends, but we didn’t become as close as we are now until, like, around four or five years ago. But we’ve known each other for over 10 years.”

With so many years of friendship under their belts, it will be exciting to see what’s next for Sabrina and Joey.

Will it be possible for the two of them to truly collaborate on a hilariously brand-new movie or TV show together?
