The friendship connection between Ariana Grande and Camila Cabello goes pretty deep, so buckle up and get ready for the details!

Ariana and Camila have been good friends with each other for several years now. In fact, their friendship really started forming back in 2013.

Here’s what you should know about how close they are, and whether or not they’ll ever collaborate on a song together.

In 2013, Ariana and Camila hung out with each other for the first time backstage after MTV‘s Artist to Watch concert.

Later that year, Camila shared a photo of herself chilling with Ariana and a few other friends.

At the 2016 Video Music Awards, Ariana and her then-boyfriend, the late Mac Miller, sat next to Camila and the rest of Fifth Harmony.

Camila was later in attendance at the Dangerous Woman Tour in California in April 2017.

When Camila released her debut single “Crying in the Club,” Ariana tweeted her support of the song writing, “You did the F out of that. Congratulations, my love.”

In 2018, Camila shared an Instagram picture of herself and Ariana together adding #RealFriends as the text block. The post was meant to reference Camila‘s song “Real Friends.”

After Ariana released “Thank U Next,” Camila spoke her praises of it at the 2018 MTV EMA’s saying, “I’ve texted her, and I was like ‘I’m so proud of you.’ Cause she, you know, I just love that she is just like going for her happiness and I love her. She’s being nothing but an incredible friend to me, and I just love her, and I want her to be happy.”

Over the years, there’s obviously been nothing but positivity and goodness between Ariana and Camila!

So, what about a collaboration?

Fans have created mashup songs combining tracks from Ariana and Camila and these mashups are all over YouTube today, but the two artists have yet to hit the studio together for a real collaboration.

What we do know is that “God is a Woman” was originally supposed to be Camila‘s song. Ariana ended up taking on the song instead, though.

Fans seem open to the idea of a legitimate collaboration between Ariana and Camila, by the way.

A fan boldly responded with, “I think the most obvious answer is Camila Cabello. Their collab would be an instant hit.“
