Fans of House of the Dragon are starting to have theories about the real birth father of Helaena Targaryen‘s children.
As of now, we’ve been led to believe that she shares her children with Aegon Targaryen. Is it possible that Aemond Targaryen is their real father, though?

One person asked, “Are Helaena Targaryen’s kids actually Aemond Targaryen’s children? There’s been so many clues pointing to something between them.”
Another fan responded by saying, “I could see a few examples, but they are EXTREMELY subtle and could be explained as just being a protective sibling; such as Aemond standing in front of her to protect her at the coronation. And also the glare when Jacaerys dances with her. A moment that had me question something more may be going on was Aegon and Aemond bickering at the funeral about Aegon having to marry her. Aemond makes the comment how he would do it, “If only mother had betrothed us.”
Someone who doesn’t believe there was ever any attraction between Helaena and Aemond wrote, “That conversation is not about Helaena, but rather it’s about Aegon not taking his position seriously as the first born son and refusing to do his duty. Aemond thinks it would have been much simpler if he were in his place because unlike Aegon, he understands the importance of being the first born son.”
Someone else who finds this theory totally comical joined the chat to say, “Bruh imagine Heleana has a similar arrangement with Aegon and Aemond that Rhaenyra had with Laenor and Harwin. Would be hilarious, not gonna lie. That would be funny as hell.”
Another fan who finds Helaena and Aemond’s connection super neutral added, “If it weren’t for me seeing people talk about it online, I never would’ve assumed there was any connection between the two, negative or positive.”
Overall, the internet seems to be slightly divided about this theory. Some people are convinced that Helaena‘s kids definitely belong to Aegon without a shadow of a doubt.
Others feel that there’s definitely room to further explore if she’s had a secret connection with Aemond the entire time.
